Introducing the Big Buddy team

Richard Aston - Chief Executive
Richard is a father of four, married to Ruth (25 yrs). When he is not running the Big Buddy organisation he spends a lot of time with his family and friends, likes to catch fish in the Manukau, writes poetry when he can, and is an excellent pancake maker.
His personal blog is here

Steve Sobota
Central Auckland Coordinator.
Steve is father to Benjamin and partner to Joanne. He has had a dual role, as a Coordinator and was responsible for setting up new branches and training new Coordinators. Steve is an aspiring musician who sings and plays percussion, is passionate about wine and makes a mean smoked fish pie.

Stephen Bell
Coordinator for South, East & West Auckland
Stephen is the father of two boys Joseph & Samuel, in relationship with Jane (15 yrs) and lives in the beautiful Waitakere Ranges.
He is passionate about social justice, cricket, quality coffee & good ice cream. He has an eclectic music collection which he plays loud and proud.

Martin Hosking
Coordinator for North Shore/Rodney
Martin lives on the Shore in Devonport, and is a father to two adult boys. He is an accomplished guitar player (late at night) and a song composer, and loves the company of good friends. He is somewhat of a beer connoisseur and cooks curries creatively.

Scott Savidge
Mentoring Manager for Wellington
Scott runs our Wellington office and lives on a hill with a great view of the city. He's into politics (hey, he's a Wellingtonian!), is a voracious reader and loves the mountains. He believes in the moral righteousness of veganism but is in expert denial and eats almost anything.
Tony Holloway
Bursar (Finance and accounting)
Bursar is latin for "keeper of the purse" and Tony does an excellent job of looking after the Big Buddy purse and the Big Buddy boats - we are not sure of the latin for keeper of the boats. Tony has been partnered to Rae for 24 years and they have one tall son. Tony loves music, boating and traveling around New Zealand in his camper bus. He also cooks a very English shepherd’s pie.
