Leave a Legacy
Leaving a gift in your will is a wonderful way to continue your legacy. Your commitment to helping improve the lives of fatherless boys will be honored after you’re gone and you’ll be helping future generations of boys become great men.
There are various options to leave a gift in your will and you can make sure that your loved ones are looked after before leaving a gift to Big Buddy. Here are the different ways you can choose to support Big Buddy through your estate:
- Residuary bequest - this is when you leave a percentage of your estate after all other expenses, debts and other specific bequests have been settled;
- Pecuniary bequest- this is when you choose to leave a specific sum;
- Specified bequest - this is when you choose to leave a particular item in your will, for example, art, jewellery, stocks, shares or even property. If you are interested in leaving a particular item to us, please contact us first so that we can ensure that we’re able to use the item as you would wish.
Here is some example wording that you could use:
“I give to Big Buddy Mentoring Trust ___% of my estate OR the rest and residue of my estate OR the sum of $_____ OR <details of specific item> for its general purposes free of probate and estate duties payable upon or in consequence of my death. I declare that the receipt of its Executive Director, Treasurer or other authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.”
We advise that you speak to your solicitor about making any changes to your will.
