Shaun Quincey

Chair of the Big Buddy Mentoring Trust

Shaun lives in Auckland with his wife, Lisa, their two sons, Mac and Charlie, and the spolit dog, Edward.

With over 20 years of experience in venture capital and financial technology, Shaun has held leadership and governance roles across Australia, New Zealand, and the USA. His expertise spans scaling high-growth companies, strategic investments, and driving innovation in the financial sector.

Beyond his professional achievements, Shaun shares a remarkable bond with his father—together, they are the only two people to have ever rowed solo across the Tasman Sea.

Trustee & Treasurer

Mark lives on Auckland’s North Shore with his wife Claire and their three children Tom, Molly & Charlie. He has been a Big Buddy mentor since 2007 and joined the board of trustees in 2011. Mark works with various growth-focussed companies seeking to expand globally and in his spare time loves the game of golf, although his handicap always seems to be heading in the wrong direction!

Emma is married to Warren and is Mum to son Tate. She has lived in the Grey Lynn/Westmere area for most of her adult life. Emma is a lawyer and loves her work. She has been specialising in employment law for the past 25 years and is a founder and partner of BE Employment Law in the CBD. Emma is trusted advisor to many public, private and not for profit organisations and puts this experience and expertise to work in her role as trustee with Big Buddy.

When not working or cheering on Tate from the sidelines at football, Emma loves to travel overseas or chill out in the family bach at Port Waikato.

Clare Wilson

Trustee 

Based in Auckland, Clare is the General Manager International at New Zealand Trade & Enterprise. During her time in NZTE she has lived in Milan, Sydney and Singapore with her son Alex (now 18). Before joining NZTE she held a number of senior marketing and leadership roles at St John Ambulance, Tourism Holdings, Auckland Rugby and Carter-Holt Harvey.

Clare has been a Trustee of the Big Buddy Foundation since 2016 and joined the Mentoring Trust Board as a Trustee in 2023. As a single Mum Clare has learnt first-hand about the importance of sons having a good male in their lives as they grow up. She is passionate about Big Buddy and how it can transform the lives of the Little Buddy and his wider family (not to mention the benefits to the Big Buddy!).

Murray Reade

Trustee 

Murray was born in Kawakawa in the Bay of Islands. His hapū is Ngāti Kuta and Patu Keha and his Iwi is Ngāpuhi.

Murray grew up between the Bay of Islands and West Auckland where he went to school. Murray has held a number of senior leadership roles as CEO across multiple sectors. In his spare time Murray enjoys the outdoors and trying to keep fit.

Big Buddy Foundation

Big Buddy is also supported by the Big Buddy Foundation, established in 2014. The Foundation facilitates fundraising opportunities for the longstanding support of current and future mentoring programmes.
