An Adventure Across the Hutt Valley
There was plenty of excitement, laughter, and friendly competition on Sunday 20th September, as our Big Buddies and Little Buddies took part in a Car Scavenger Hunt around the Hutt Valley.
Designed to bring matches together for a day of adventure, the challenge saw teams racing against the clock to find and photograph 45 different items and locations spread throughout the region. With a checklist, a vehicle, and a sense of adventure, each team set off determined to uncover as many clues as possible before time ran out.
From local landmarks to hidden gems, the scavenger hunt encouraged participants to explore the Hutt Valley while working together to complete their mission. Every stop presented a new opportunity for teamwork, communication, and a little bit of friendly rivalry.
Teamwork Takes Centre Stage
While the scavenger hunt was undoubtedly fun, it also challenged matches to think strategically and work together. Teams had to decide which locations to visit, navigate the quickest routes, keep track of completed tasks, and solve problems along the way.
For Big Buddies and Little Buddies, activities like these offer much more than entertainment. They create opportunities to strengthen relationships through shared experiences. Whether celebrating a successful find or figuring out how to tackle the next challenge, every moment encouraged communication and collaboration.
There were lots of laughs throughout the day as teams encountered unexpected detours, debated directions, and discovered just how competitive they could be when a prize was on the line.
Celebrating Our Winning Teams
As the afternoon progressed, it became clear that the competition would be a close one.
In an impressive display of determination and teamwork, two teams managed to complete all 45 tasks on the list, resulting in a tie for first place.
Congratulations to Gavin and SJ and Steve and Tama, who both achieved a perfect score. Their ability to work together, stay focused, and embrace the challenge saw them reach the top of the leaderboard.
While the winners deservedly took home the bragging rights, every team contributed to a fantastic day filled with fun, connection, and adventure.
