Recently, some of the boys from across Auckland who have graduated from our Group Programmes so far, came together for a great day out at Wero Whitewater Park.
One of the things we want to do more of is create opportunities for boys to stay connected after their programme has finished. The friendships and support networks that develop during the programme are valuable, and bringing the boys together again gives them a chance to reconnect, meet others who have shared similar experiences, and continue building those positive relationships.
The day was packed with laughs, challenges and plenty of encouragement. As the boys took on the high ropes course, they cheered each other on, pushed through a few nerves and celebrated each other’s achievements along the way.
It was great to see many of the skills explored during the programmes on display, from communication and teamwork to resilience and supporting others. Just as importantly, it gave the boys a chance to spend time together, have fun and create some new memories.
After working up an appetite, everyone enjoyed a well-earned Subway lunch before continuing the day’s adventures.
The outing was a great reminder of how important connection is for young people. We’re grateful to be able to provide opportunities like this and look forward to bringing the boys together again in the future.
